The lady finally came out to the parking lot, and invited us back in. Once inside, she asked how she could help us. I explained that I found a plan online and wanted to discuss details. She then told us that all information was online. Really?!?!? That was the biggest slap in the face I've ever had from a business. Needless to say, we left and will not be going back and do not recommend this company to anyone. If you aren't trying to get my business, I damn sure enough won't give it to you!
My husband and I drove an hour and a half away to visit their store front after looking over plans on their website, ordering their $10 plan book, and having questions about their homes and plans. When we arrived, we stood in the front entrance for a while, heard voices in the back room, but no one greeted us. We waited and waited, and finally got frustrated and left, shutting the door rather hard to let them know someone WAS there.
Battle Creek LH built our log home in 2010. It's now 2015 and we continue to be happy with the fit and finish. We acted as our own GC and worked with the BCLH crew without any issues or problems.
Forget about getting any info on a cabin.
Where do I start? When we started sealing the outside no less than 15 trim boards fell off where the nails didn't hit wood. They left nails sticking out of the exposed ceilings. The blueprints called for massive piers for the foundation, I have 3 piers built into one because it was easer for the block masons, with only 6" bearing! My front gable was so far out of square the roof on one side was a foot longer than the other. The blueprints called for the stud walls on top of the logs to be inset 5/8" so the finished walls flush with the logs, that leaves me to spend more to make it look decent. The only way to make it look right is to tear down the walls and start over! They never tied the floor joists and you can see daylight between a couple of logs! They left the 1st of October came back 3 times and still didn't finish! I gave up and hired a contractor to finish now that it's the first of March. My mistake was paying them the last installment because now I have to pay someone else to finish the job!
THESE ARE EXCELLENT HOMES,EXCELLENT BUILDERS..THEY did a mother in law sweet for my mother,She pic out the seasons charm
I emailed these people about a 600 sq ft custom hunting cabin and was sent a glossy 5x7 postcard with illegible design options and was told to refer to their website. Does the website draw up the blueprints, deliver the logs, and do the set up too? What a joke. Its a shame too because I had cash in hand ready to go. I'll take my business elsewhere. It amazes me how so called businesses like this keep their doors open.
